Upper Intake Swap??

OK I have a 95 5.0 and I just recently came across a Polished and bored 5.0 Saleen upper intake that is for sale at a really good price. My question is if it is off of the hatchback models then will it fit on my 95 5.0? The guy I talked to said that it will fit the 88-95, but the 94-95 5.0 would need a throttle adaptor. Does any one have any more information or know if that intake will work with my stock 302?
Thanks,

Re: Upper Intake Swap??

I believe the Saleen plenum's are made by Vortech, but not 100% sure. If the lower intake ports are the same design, then yeah it will work along with the TB adapter. I'm just not sure of the port configuration of the Saleen upper compared to the lower of the stocker.

Thanks for the response. SO then if the upper matches up with my stock lower, you think it would be a good idea to go ahead and swap them out? I know slaeen makes great products, but would I be better off getting a brand new upper, or will this one add signifigant HP over my stock? Like I said this saleen one is ported out, polished, and I think I can get it for around 150. So to me it sounds like it is worth the money...

Re: Upper Intake Swap??

Well 150 isn't too bad. But just remember, that your new ported and polished upper will only flow as good as your most restrictive component. Meaning, the stock lower, stock TB and stock MAF meter are going to place restrictions on how well the Saleen upper will flow.

Like HiFlow said it will only flow as well as your most restrictive part. I'm not an expert on Saleen parts but I do think that upper was made by Vortech and I think it was made for the S/C Saleens of the late 80's early 90's. So I'd need to see a pic of it put I have a feeling there are a lot better upper/lower intake manifolds for you car.
