Hey state69champ whats ur prob with 3.4 liters they're decent cars...especially since im only a teen and it's my first car. I am an aspiring mechanic and know alot about cars because ive learned from the best. I know pretty much everything about f bodys and enough to kno that ur a complete dumbass. What do you mean SLP Loudmouth and a v engine sux they had it produced for lt1s also u dumbshit and it is the best exhaust you can have for an lt1 which is a V8. Before u wanna shit talk u might wanna learn what ur talkin bout.

Re: SLP Loudmouth
na kiddy's its the Dohc 4.6
just playin, the ls1 is a great motor but in my perspective i live the 4.6 better.. For the extra RPM range witch deffinatly helps when your racing to 150 and for the power and one of a kinda mustang sound.. as for the V6 senario i would think the SC 3800 would be the king.. 240hp stock vs. 160 from the 3400.. a 3400 in a 3400lb car blows.. we are talking high 16's in the quarter here.. i know for a fact at least with the 3800 non supercharged the firebirds and camaro rs's were running low 15's in 5 speed trim.. thing too is that base f-body's have shitty rear ends.. no posi traction unless you get it in a sport package.. either way a V6 in a heavy car sucks unless you twin turbo charge it!

Re: Re: SLP Loudmouth
Don't let those "shoulda got a V8!" lines bother you dude. You're driving your car for a reason so do what you will to make her more original.
I agree that having the L36 would have given you a better engine to build on (could cam that sucker up nice) but as already mentioned the V6 F-Body's are so damn heavy its like why bother. I think you got the right idea though looking into a catback system - V6 or not, you're gonna sound a hell of a lot better that those econo-box cars with bee hive mufflers. What I wanted to say is I saw (actually followed) an F-Body the other day just to ask the guy if he was running a MagnaFlow catback or not. Turns out this '98+ Camaro was a V6 (L36 though) and he had a Flowmaster catback system with flaired 3" tailpipes. I must say for a V6 I was impressed at the sound - it idled nice and after he rev'd it up made a nice crackle. I don't think you can go wrong with a Flowmaster. I know for my car they say the 80 series muffler is proven to make the most HP gains - and it sounds bloody awesome! I also think the Borla's are too raspy (especially on the LS1's). The MagnaFlow catback for the LT1 is wicked because its cheap, sounds great, and the tubing is big. If I had the coin I would spring for a Corsa catback though.

Re: SLP Loudmouth
i know a kid who owned a v6 camaro, and he had flowmaster exhaust on it and yes it did sound nice.. He also had nitrous in it and the word on the streets around here was that it was kinda quick.. he was keeping up with his friend with a moded GTP so thats 14's easy.. he was sporting the 3400 also so.. If i were you, i'd get long tube headers, pullies, 3:73 gears with posi, throttle body, MAS, a chip, shift kit and run a 100 shot.. if thats not 12's i dunno what is.. i just hate the fags that act like there base camaro is super fast with just a muffler.. Don't be that guy lol... I also know of a kid around here who started off with a base firebird and converted it into a trans am.. LT1 engine swap and all the appearance changes as well.. Just weigh it out.. would it be cheaper to just swap the engine or build the one you have.. i kinda feel bad for guys that start off with less and build it up and its still not as good as if they would had just bought the good stuff in the beginging.. Like this SHO i raced last weekend.. SHO's aren't that fast stock.. He slapped a supercharger on it and ran 6 psi along with other stuff.. he had 325 whp when he had it dyno'd and he was barley keeping up with me in a highway race.. off the line i beat him by a car length and a half.. So he did all that and it barely keeps up with my near stock Cobra.. All a matter of opinion i supose.. it's always nice to see the under dog win. thats for sure..

Re: SLP Loudmouth
Magnaflow is great exhuast for cheap...but people dont know about ravin's. I have a ravin z55 exhuast system on my 98 TA and it roars much louder than flowmasters and slp loudmouth. there is also a z33 series that guarantees 30% of flowmasters

I wouldn't mod the v6. If I were you, I'd find an LT1 or LS1 car and mod. I don't care for the SLP loudmouth. I personally think it sounds like ass. Flowmasters on the LS1 cars have show on the dyno to loose a few hp over the stock muffler.
I can tell you that Long Tubes, O/R ypipe and a bullet muffler from Dynomax sound great on my Ellis Juan(LS1). Good luck in your decision though. Hey Dave(Cobra guy)....I'll race you to 150 in my dinosaur engine that 'only' revs to 6Krpms. Just messin' with ya

Re: SLP Loudmouth
less horsepower from the flowmaster makes no sence.. how could bigger tubing and a free flowing muffler restrict horsepower.. you just heard that from someone who doesn't like flowmaster thats all.. show some dyno slips...

first of all slp loudmouth does suck. and secondly i have flowmaster on my blown t/a and you are full of shit if you think that it is more restrictive than the stockmuffler. have you ever looked inside the stock muffler or torn it appart? there is so much bull shit in there its not funny. and i have torn appart a flowmaster and looked at it and they are not even close to compare. flowmaster does not lose more hp than stock thats just stupid to even say.
