Re: Slp Loudmouth Loudest Exhaust?

Well, if you already have it then you might as well put it on. Personally i am just getting 3.5" mandrel bent pipe from the cat back to an 80's series flow and a cut out if i want to use it. This will be louder and sound better than the SLP LM exhaust, IMO... As for HP gains anwhere from 10-20 i am guessing i dont rightly know off the top of my head.

Re: Slp Loudmouth Loudest Exhaust?

I've got the SLP LM and SLP y-pipe. I think it sounds better than any other setups on the market, but it's not the loudest that I know of. For an emissions-testing state though, it's about the best you can do. Do what I did, search local boards, find someone that has it, and ask them if you can meet up and go for a ride in it. Got me sold on it right away, and IMO, it sounds better than Hooker, Borla, Flowmaster, etc...

Re: Slp Loudmouth Loudest Exhaust?

I also wanted to know if the SLP Long Tube Headers are emission legal in California. Would I have to do any mods to my car in order for it to work properly?

No long tube headers are "street legal" in california, the cats are "tampered with" when you put on LT's(just moving them justifies as tampering), so there are no LT headers with a CARB number, however, they wont effect emissions as long as you have a y pipe with cats, or if you incorporate cats in your exhaust somehow, so if you try to smog your car at a place where theyre lenient for the visual test, they will pass the tail pipe test.

IMO, my exhaust is the loudest ive ever heard, although i have an LT1, im not sure if you have a LS1 or LT1, but i have Corsa, with FLP long tube headers With the cats, and its the loudest ive heard at WOT, need earplugs when behind it LOL, but at the same time its the quietest of all loud exhaust at idle.

when you put on LT headers, it will make your car louder, especially in higher RPM's

Re: Slp Loudmouth Loudest Exhaust?

I have a 2001 WS6 LS1. I want my car to be really loud but not illegal because in CA you get busted really fast. Are any headers legal in California? Hopefully the Slp loudmouth and the slp y-pipe will be loud enough. But I want it to sound mean!!! So if anyone has any advice to make it really really loud, let me know. Thanks

Re: Slp Loudmouth Loudest Exhaust?

I don't believe that shorties, or mid-length headers move the cats at all, so those should still be legal. I sent you a PM, so check it and get back to me.

The Corsa does sound good, but I could never justify the price. I've even had a buddy of mine change his Corsa to th LM because he like the sound of mine so much.

yea just a reminder it takes 7 hours to put on headers onto a 4th gen a y pipe is a must with high flow cats (or gutted cats) and the entire project took me and a friend who are not to experienced and we went threw a 12 pack 3 hours for the cats y pipe and catback (without a lift or pit). if your only going to do just one mod on your f-body i would do a slp catback (loudmouth) and if you are going to do 2 mods i would put the highflow cats and y pipe also. really fast revs AWESOME SOUND!!

Re: Slp Loudmouth Loudest Exhaust?

Dalusa, what length are your headers? The only reason I ask is, with SLP's LT's, you have to use a different SLP y-pipe than the SLP y-pipe that I have with my stock headers right now. It would be nice for me not to have to get another one and go through the hassle of selling the one I have now...
