Help, 221 HP Mustang runs 13.2
Hey, everyone I need some help here... I post at stangnet.com and this guy swears that his buddies Fox Body GT that he states weighs in at 3150lbs and only producing 221rwhp runs 13.2 seconds @ 101 mph in the quartermile... I don't see this happening... Am I wrong or is this guy full of it...
Here is the link: and it is located in 5.0 mustang talk forum Raced "stock" 1993 gt with my supercharged stang... sad results inside... http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=444253 |

Re: Help, 221 HP Mustang runs 13.2
either he has GREAT drivetrain efficiency or he's lying. A stock GT runs the quarter at 99 mph anyway so 101 isn't too much of an improvement. He must have it in the launch. I know a camaro with such great efficiency that dynoing at 360 rwhp he will pull the tires bout a foot off the ground on slicks

I'd say its very possible with a hard launch on slicks and good shifting.

That kinda leaves me hope! I dyno'd 223hp on a chassis dyno and we put in 3100lbs. That was with a 9:1 A/F too. I'm pretty sure he has more "power" mods then JUST exhaust though. My main power mods are exhaust, pulleys and rockers.Matt

It's possible.... but not super-likely. It's like the old saying goes it doesn't matter how much HP you have what matters is how much you can put to the road.

Re: Help, 221 HP Mustang runs 13.2
I also think WHERE the run was made could make a big differance. There is an esay .35-.50 differance in even Phoenix in the winter and someplace like Houston in the winter. Little bit of air density differance...
An 11.38 run in 5200' desert air will altitude correct to something like a 10.75 using NHRA's published formula. |

Tinner, 34 years of drag racing is alot of racing. I was begining to think I was the old guy among all these young pups. You got me beat. I've only been in the game for 15 years. Just bracket racing though plus some of the late night back road stuff. Just testing of course. The guy in the other lane was just testing too!
