1991 2.5L 4 Cyl, eng prob
my truck starts fine and even runs great, I have low oil pressure and low power on the road. There is a very loud knock comming from the engine compartment. I have checked the valves, the timing, the oil pump driveshaft and nothing seems to be wrong. Any suggestions?

Bad news man, Mine did the same thing right before my slave cylinder went out on me taking my clutch and flywheel with it. Hurry up and get that looked at.

canuck it isn't guranteed its your clutch going, it could be you have metal shavings or some debris in your cylinders, i was changing my spark plugs out one day and i had to rethread my plug, and some metal shavings got into the cylinder and it made this really loud godawful noise, just try and blow your cylinders out

Rod bearing? Wrist pin? Does the noise get louder and or faster with revs? Noise coming from valve area or down further???
And if the last postee had shavings in the cylinder and then got a bad noise I wouls suspect damage. |

Re: 1991 2.5L 4 Cyl, eng prob
it never damaged my truck, we ran a magnet through the cylinder we thought had the shavings in it, and it started to run just fine, but it did have a pretty bad noise when we had the shavings in there. when my last clutch went, i never heard a noise of any sorts, it just straight out went
