Newbie questions - 95 Monte LS

Hello all,

I have 2 questions on 95 Monte.

1. I have turn signal that will not hold in position. The signal lights up but the turn signal stalk will not stay, do I need a new switch? If so, does it require special tool to remove the steering are so that I can change it?

2. My speedometer works on and off. Sometimes it will not work and for a few months, no problem. Has any one had this trouble? It sounds like ground iss but which ground wires?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Steve

Re: Newbie questions - 95 Monte LS

Yes you will need a steering wheel puller..if you are really cheep you can remove the air bag n loosen the nut and pull real hard cocking the wheel slightly. i do not recomend this!!!! then you will need to remove the plate that is next. to do this there is a tool that screws on the shaft where you removed the steering wheel nut. then tighten the tool and it will push that plate down. remove the lock ring and remove the plate. just rip it off cus you can replace that ring for a few cents. then you can get to the signal switch.pull out the directional handel from the column and remove the switch. its been a while since i did this, but this should be able to get u started.
