Best lunch break ever

My friend took my wifes Prelude to Honda, he works there, to do a tune up on it. I drove his car and left my hatch at home because my wife would rather drive my car than his. He has a 94 eclipse gst with a 16g and a lot of mods. Well, for some crazy reason he is still using the stock intercooler and since the compressor outlet is 3" and the intercooler inlet is 2.5" he had to rig up the piping. Anyway, I decided to go home to see my wife for lunch yesterday. I live 10 minutes away from the beach, gulf shores, so it's crazy down here because of spring break. Well, my road was coming up on the left and I was in the wrong lane so I needed to merge. There were like 3 ricers surrounding me revving at me and I couldn't get over. The light in front of me just turned green and the traffic was congested and moving slowly. At this point was was about 20ft away from my turn. There was an opening in front of one of the accords in my fan club, lol. I had to act fast so I dropped it and accelerated in front of him. As I was rounding the corner I heard a loud POP, then as I tried to accelerate...nothing. The car shut off. I shifted down and popped the clutch and it started back up. I accelerated and it wouldn't do anything over 15mph without extreme hesitation. I pulled over and looked around and noticed that the intercooler elbow popped off. Well, I didn't have anything to fix it with so I drove about a mile down the road to my house. On the way home I saw my wife as she passed me in the other lane, and she called me. She wasn't going to be home for like 3 hours (great). I pulled in the driveway and spent the next 30-45 minutes rigging that stupid elbow back up and drove back to work hungry... and 30 minutes late.

Yeah, that car is a blast. My boss is actually out of town, but he wouldn't care. Everyone up here is pretty cool. I like my job, but it needs to pay more.

The other cars were stock, one had a couple of big "Honda" stickers and I think the muffler was missing, but he kept revving at me, then there was another car with a cut and paste muffler that was about to drag the ground. The third one was an rs eclipse that was slammed and had a big aluminum wing, but he dropped back a little while before. The eclipse I was in is lowered 1.75in., on a tokico/h&r setup with anti-roll and swap bars has some nice 17in rims, and that's it for cosmetics. As far as mods, he has a 16g turbo with the 7cm^3 housing, INjen turbo intake, Apexi 2.5" exhaust and downpipe, HKS SSBOV, clutch and flywheel (don't know the name), and some other stuff, but that's what he had last time I checked. It's also a Diamond star, which is Domestic. Have you ever heard of Plymouth?
