Talking My life is now complete!

This last Saturday night, Mark and I went to the street races out here Hiroshima.

I have been involved in the car scene for the last 14 years and NOTHING could have prepared me for what we saw that night. 5, count them, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Ferraris where there. The tuned, silver 360 Modena was back, a yellow 360 spyder, 2 red 550's and a Barchetta. Now I've seen my share of these on the street and at shows but these 5 ACTUALLY RAN!! Mark and I went up to the overpass to watch them pass by. All 5 of them were at full bore coming down the road with the (now infamous) Silver 360 way out in front. When they passed under us the overpass shook from the air that they were moving. I've never witnessed a vehicle moving down a street at that kind of speed before, let alone 5. Others were saying that they were moving near 300kph at that time.

Now if that wasn't enough, a friend of a friend pulled up in his full-tuned, 960hp R32 GTR. Nice car I thought and then Mark turns to me and tells me that I'm going for a ride in it. "WTF???" So I climbed in and buckled up. The first thing that I noticed about the car is that it had the harshest ride of any car I had ever been in (my back still hasn't recovered). And all I can say about this car is if it wasn't for the fact that it was AWD, it would have been undriveable! He turned the boost back up to his high setting and took me on the expressway. That car accelerated so hard that it was hard to breathe! He took it up to 280kph (which didn't take long to get there) before he backed off it. He then proceeded to race along the expressway only slowing to 180kph for the corners and damn did that car rail! Turns out that the owner of the car has his International Race License (he got skills). And he didn't hold back for showing the car off to the gaijin. After about 30 minutes we got back and I climbed out. Then everyone got a good laugh when he told everyone how I was sweating for most of the ride. (yeah, I was, I admit it).

That night was by far the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. I think the only way I can possibly top that is by one, having my own 960hp GTR, or two, getting head from Cameron Diaz. Since neither of them are very likely any time soon. I'm just going to be happy with what I got!

Sorry for wasting everyone's time but I just couldn't think of a better place to vent!

Oh yeah, and I'm now the proud owner of a Black '94 EVO II GSR so it looks like I'm gonna have to change my name now.

Thanks again Mark for the best weekend ever dude!

Well if I had any doubts about spending the rest of my life in Japan... they're gone now.

I love it here.

Re: My life is now complete!

Well, after this weekend I went out and did something I should have done a long time ago: I bought a high-end digital camcorder.

I have been going to Sagatas since I was 18 (I am now 31) and can't recall seeing as many nice cars there ever, let alone the Ferraris.

A quick list of the noteworthys:

HKS Kansai Service R33GTR
Makers full tune FD RX7 (do a search for makers rx7 in google...)
Lambo Diablo with full carbon fibre aero kit
NSX fully kitted
about 5 34 GTRs
EVO 8 MR (thats the new one)

When Scott got back from the ride in Yamaguchi-sans R, he looked sort of like Rick Moranis after Sigourney Weaver Boned his brains out in Gostbusters... Hair mussed, glazed look on his face, and pants on backward.

If I can keep my health up and company running, I will be sure to get some good pics and videos out there for everyone.
