Breaking in Bad Weather

Last month I bought a 1992 BMW 735i and had no problems with the car at all. However, on Tuesday I was driving in about 2 inches of snow and the car was sliding all over the place. I was told this is common with rear wheel drive cars, however, was really scared me was breaking in the snow. The car would just not stop. I was stopped on a red light, and just adjusted my foot from the brake and reapplied the brake and the car slid, the brake pedal would rise up as if the brakes and rotors were grinding. This was happening for about 2 hours until I parked the car.

The very next day, I took the car on the highway, I wanted to test the brakes, applied the brakes hard and the car stopped in a heart beat, no problem at all.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Sam

Re: Breaking in Bad Weather

Advice: have your anti-lock brake system checked by someone who knows what they're doing.

BTW, did you break anything when your brakes didn't work, hehe? English is wierd isn't it? Let's see, we have:
break, brake
to, too, two
there, their, they're
weather, whether
its, it's

Probably a lot more but, it's early...
