Steering Column Noise-Please Help!
I was driving down the highway the other day in my 89 Caprice Classic Brougham LS, and all of a sudden at 65 MPH an annoying rattling noise started coming from the steering column or dash (its hard to tell). When I drive at 35 MPH or below the noise comes and goes, but at higway speeds it its constant and sounds like I have steel BB's tumbling around in my steering column. What could this be? And how do I fix it?
I am also still looking for companies that make Exuast systems and Intakes that will work on the Carpice, If anyone knows some good sources, please let me know. Thanks Hvyrghtfoot |

More than likely it's coming from your dash, and it's the speedometer cable.

Agreed. Speedo cables can get dry and rattle or chirp like a bird - the speedometer head may need some lubrication too while the dash is out . . .
