Exclamation New Track times plus a few street racing stories

ok so the night starts off i get off early from work at 430, goto the bank, come home and change my mismatched tires around, 2 michillen's in front and 2 nitto radials in the back...yea i know i know

so me my friend with a 91 black formula and a friend with a 97 cx civic roll up to the track

my best 3 runs of the night *i got 12 in* were
R/T: .617
60': 2.229
330: 6.240
1/8: 9.582
MPH: 73.87
1000:12.449
1/4: 14.896
MPH: 92.24

R/T: .570
60': 2.190
330: 6.194
1/8: 9.528
MPH: 74.02
1000: 12.394
1/4: 14.846
MPH: 91.18

R/T: .532
60': 2.186
330: 6.154
1/8: 9.468
MPH: 74.45
1000: 12.313
1/4: 14.744
MPH: 91.93

i was really hyped when i got these times, i mean they are b16 in a 2nd gen times...speaking of b16 crx's

theres this kid that goes to my school and they all think they are fast with their mufflers and intakes...whatever, but this kids brother has a b16 crx with i/h/e im geussing sounded like it, maybe a vacf, well he was all driving around like an asshole and was tryin to pick a race with me in the middle of traffic

so i turn around and he follows theres still alot of traffic in the way for about 5-10 min and then we hit a part of the strip that is clear ahead, he drops it in 2nd and wait for me to do so, so i drop it in 2nd and we go at it, i kept up with him even in 2nd and then i expected him to pull but i started to pull steadily on him about a car and a half on him and then i shut it down, we catch back up to traffic and slow down

after a few lights traffic is clear again and he drops it into 2nd again...so i do the same thinkin he like missed a gear last time or something and we went again this time i pulled harder than before in the beggining and kept it steady, i was stoked because earlier in summer this kid raced my friend with a gsr del sol and pulled on him quite good? so i was expecting to loose but i pulled on him anyways it was a great night of racing street and track again all i have is an ls with intake and exhaust...

Re: New Track times plus a few street racing stories

its all about the launch and so far ive done very well, found the sweet spot to launch at and the tire pressure

next time im gonna experiment with some other things and hopefully as it gets a bit warmer the tires will grip better

Re: New Track times plus a few street racing stories

Your not fast? I consider that pretty fast man, a high 14 sec car is considered pretty peppy in my opinion. My ideal car would run high 12s, below that, its too fast for me, ive only driven a mid 13 sec car and it felt really fast for me. In the beach my car feels kinda fast 15.3 sec car.
Nice driving, congrats.

Re: New Track times plus a few street racing stories

i just ran a 12.81 with more potential. this was with a stock turbo, front mount and boost controller. the falken azenis couldn't hold any more and the plug wire failed at the 1000 ft mark. and there is more boost too.

Re: New Track times plus a few street racing stories

very possible goals... i know people with 11-12 second cars daily driven on the street in NY. i drive mine 50-60 mile per day to and from work. i just need a little more spark and some slicks...up the boost and 12.3 is attainable and i am happy. then some touch paint here and there...lol

Back when all I had was an intake and muffler I ran a 15.5.
The biggest problem I have now is my 60' time the 14.4 run was with a 2.555 60' time. So 13's are not far away
But with the extra mods I have lined up in the next month or 2 it will be seeing mid to low 14's all motor hopefully and low 13's on the bottle That is if I don't break anything.
