Opinions on x-pipes

Just curious as to what you guys think about x-pipes? I just found a used one at a good price that I might pick up to replace my h-pipe that has a massive leak. My original plan was to go with longtubes, but I am in the process of moving so my funds are now tapped as of now. So give me your thoughts!

HiFlow! Your asking us for opinions on exhaust? There's a first.

Well you know to make it short; H-pipes sound better, X-pipes flow better. what brand is it and how much? You can never pass up a great deal though you know.

Where ya moving too?

Re: Opinions on x-pipes

They say X-pipes make more power than H pipes. I personally dont like the sound of X-pipes, well most. I like how Dr.Gas and UPR sounds with flowmasters. Personally Id get a Prochamber, makes more power than both and sounds better. Ill be getting it when I install my Longtubes. If not then I may get a Tru Bendz or VRS X-pipe.

Re: Opinions on x-pipes

I got an Xpipe on my stang and I personally like it... if you say they don't sound as good as H pipes but they flow more air then why would you sacrifice power for a better sound... which isn't even all that noticeable really.

No one is going to listen to your exhaust and say "I don't like it... you must have an x-pipe" so, yea I like my x pipe

Re: Opinions on x-pipes

h pipes-more sound
x pipes-more top end power due to the way it flows

Prochamber, makes more power than some of the X-pipes out there and sounds way better.

I say wait for money and buy longtubes with a longtube x-pipe. I bought a rx-7 two weeks ago and I didn't buy it for the sound. The only time it really sounds good is at 8K.

I really like my Bassani (may be spelled different) X Pipes. They flow very well and sound great with my Flowmaster Catbacks.

Re: Opinions on x-pipes

I just unbolted mine after the stock h-pipe and it sounds sweet, and revs slightly better. I think Borla sounds the best though.

Re: Opinions on x-pipes

Well Craig, I've only heard them on 4.6's and I really like the way they sound. I can actually tell the (sound) difference between it and an H-pipe on the 4.6 Mustangs. I think it sounds a little more raspy and yes it does sound good with flowmasters. And also the power difference betwen the 2 is minimal.
