Transmission swap?

Just curious if anyone could help? Ive got a 91 Lude si with the b21a1....Does anyone know what or how hard it would be to modify the automatic transmission currently residing to a manual tranny. Such as pedals, cables, mounts etc. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Transmission swap?

Aside from the mounts probably being different on the tranny side, shouldn't be too hard, provided the chassis was drilled for it all from the factory and everything can bolt up.

Re: Transmission swap?

you can't just convert an automatic transmission to standard... you have to put in a clutch, clutch pedal, and standard transmission, and also either swap out your ECU with one for a standard, or send it out to be flashed.

Actually there is more to it than that even. Sometimes you have to cut a bigger hole fo the linkage and shifter depending on the difference in systems, run you clutch cable, or hydraulic lines, And get you ECU reprogrammed (yo no comprende flashed), nt to mentioned, as I said before most of the time the tranny mount has to be fabricated from the old one since they are different.

Re: Transmission swap?

flashing is reprogramming... you know like the flash cards in a digital camera... our car ECU's use the same type chip... just a bit different...
