for the Honda world, Honda produced versions of some of their cars to road racing spec... the NSX-R, Integra Type-R, Civic Type-R and Accord Type-R.

it denotes "Type-Race"

Type-RS is used by Subaru, and denotes "Type-Rally Sport"

RS is used by some manufacturers to denote comfort packages on their cars, like the Integra series... RS, LS, GS, GS-R, and Type-R (from lowest standard features to highest price offering)

like in the domestic world, people in rice land also use the Type-R stickers to try and fool others into thinking their lower classed car is an honest to goodness higher class version... easily debunked by examining their standard features. like a Camaro V6 with "Z28 SS" stickers and badges, some people use the "Type-R" sticker to quickly upgrade their vehicle to try and impress the unknowing.
