Side Mirror Vibration

98 Blazer LT. Driver's side mirror vibrates when driving. Is the glass removable without removing the entire housing?.ie, the door panel.

Just remove the door panel and tighten the bolts holding the mirror on..

I'll try it, but it looks more like the glass is vibrating in the housing, not the housing itself. These are power mirrors.

I;ve had that problem, it still occurs, all I do is move the mirror a bit and it tightens it. It does losen again, just move it again.. voila... yeah, silly thing, look for a fix, why spend $125 cdn for a new mirror.

I have the same problem. Had to replace the mirror due to it being cracked..part was aftermarket..didn't go through GM as they wanted double over the counter. Now it shakes at fast highway speeds.
Guy that runs a body shop told me there is no way to tighten the glass, but to get some foam..bunch it up and put it in behind the mirror.
Might be a little budget but may just do the trick.
Haven't tried it yet.

When your hinge pins were dead, did your door refuse to stay open?

Not really. It was just something that they said needed to be replaced , that it was common, and that it needed to be done before the door fell of. Not sure I believed the part about the door falling off. I had the same problem with the mirror, and was going to have it replaced, but when they told me how much it was I was like, fuck that. Then the hing thing came up which kind of had to be done and it fixed it without trying.

That is so annoying. Try this hold mirror in place and work switch to tighten it up or move mirror mamually then readjust with switch.Works for me

I had the same issue, I never fixed, I just replaced the mirror. The mirror had a crack so instead of just doing the glass I did the housing and all. Only cost me $50. Well it would have cost that but the glass guy did it for free as long as he got to replace my back window if you catch my drift.

Re: Side Mirror Vibration

I bought a aftermarket mirror on my truck and it to vibrates... I stuck a foam tape on the adjustable part of the mirror and all is well.

Re: Side Mirror Vibration

You should try and get the newer style mirrors with the large swivel hinge, the older "bubble" style is notorious for cracking on the bottom and vibrating like mad.
