Re: help my wheels wont come off

Very carefully spray some PB Blaster where the wheel meets the hub. Try to keep it off the brakes if possible. If that doesn't work, nothing will. Spray down the brakes with brake cleaner afterward just to be sure.

Yeah, i'd recommend spraying PB Blaster or some sort of penetrating fluid on the lugs (assuming they are what is stopping each wheel from coming off) and then use a impact wrench on the lugs. If its not the lugs, spray the stuff on the hub CAREFULLY (as said before) and the kick the crap out of it, or place a woodblock on the sides, and hammer it off. YOU MUST USE THE BLOCKS THOUGH!

.....And if you do get them off......

Don't over torque them! You'll have the same problem all over again.

T O ME IT SOUNDS LIKE ON OF TWO THINGS, 1. THE IS ALOT OF RUST HOLDING THEM ON OR 2. YOU RUN YOUR CAR ALOT AND TEND T OOVERUSE THE BREAKS, SO WHEN THE YHEAT UPAND COOL OFF THEY EXPAND. tO GE TTHE WHEELS OFF USE A RUBBER MALLET OR KICK IT, AFTER PUTTING PENETRATING FLUID ON THE HOLES WHERE THE LUGS GO, WORK IT SLOWLY AND THEY WILLCOME OVER FOR SURE.

Re: help my wheels wont come off

lol, I don't think it's bcause he uses his brakes too much. when things heat up, they expand-the beauty of it is that they contract when they cool off. Plus, there is no reason the hub would get THAT hot. To me, it sounds like the center of the wheel might be too small for the hub on the vehicle. Do the things said above, then use a BFH (big fu**in' hammer)

People sure look like dumb asses when the talk and don't know what they're talking about.(goinbig)If the center of the wheel is too small for the hub on the vehicle they ould of never fit on to start with. Plus yes, overuse of the brakes will cause this to happen, and your right they do cool down but only 95% of what they expnded, after many times, they won't come off w/o a fucking huge ass hammer.

The most effective way I've found to solve this is to loosen the lug nuts a couple of turns and drive down the street, jerking the steering wheel back and forth. They'll pop loose. Just be careful driving back to your house.

Actually, the size of the hole in the center of the wheel can be very similar to that of another vehicles, but just a little off. For example, YJ Jeeps have a slightly different size hole than that of a '92-'96 Full size Ford pickup. You can put it on the vehicle, but it is extremely tight and usually will not come off very easily at all. When you tighten the lug-nuts, it pulls the wheel in tighter, over that smaller hub. Think about it man.

What do you mean they do cool down only 95% of what they expanded? I think you mean they contract only 95%, right? If they expanded and contracted that much, painted and cromed wheels would have their finish cracking like crazy!!
