need computer programer for 94 Z28

Does any one around Laverne or Smyrna Tennessee have a computer programmer for a 94 Z28 that I can use? I would like to reprogram my computer but do not want to spend the money on a new programmer if you got one laying around. will consider buying it from you.thanks

if your PCM located under hood then only dealer ship can do that if under the dash no need programing

PCM is under the hood, but it is OBD1. I know on OBD2 the dealer has to do it ,but I have been told on OBD1 I can get the programer and reprogram my chip. It is sodered in to the PCM.

yes once i replaced pcm i had to send it to dealer to program it

what year was you'rs? mine is a 94 i 'm not sure what year they started haveing to program them at the dealer but i know some of the 97 and above have to be done at the dealer.

um, there are actually lots of aftermarket shops that do the reprograming of PROM chips. actually the dealership dosnt even do it, they take the chip, mail it out to a shop that does the work, and then get it back and give it to you. the OBDII systems can be reprogramed with a handheld device, but OBDI systems must have the PROM chip reprogramed at a station with a computer and programing port.

Ok, your the closest but still off, They have handhelp programmer's (there are alot of them too hypertech is most popular) for every year 4th Gen F-body except 93 because the chip could be removed. The chip is not removable in 94 + (OBD 1 or 2)cars & you can also program your PCM by buying a OBD 1 Cable that hooks into your computer and buying software from places like www.pcmforless.com which has designed the programs for some of the fastest LT1's, LS1's and LS6's in the world.

Hi,I had a friend that had a 96 Z28 that had some kind of chip enhancment/programmed.It was an auto.You could see the the cable that ran directly from under the steering wheel under the dash.It looked like a printer connector almost.All I know is that when he hit 3rd gear it was on!!He raced a friend of his with a 97 6spd,headers,K&n,Flowmaster,ect.He smoked him untill top end about 150.He bought this car at a dealership.So he was never really sure about all that was done to it.All I know I drove it 2-3 times.It was alot faster than the stock version of that year.

Yeah there are a couple of company that used a programmer that had to be connected at all times to feed the computer info that altered information in the prom chip they worked pretty dam good but the new programmer's are better in that you can actually view the data and choose which factor's you want to alter and then you can save the changes and remove the programmer but both do the same job which is make your car perform better.

I have a program installed in my computer for editing changes to information in my prom, I can save data from my engine computer to look at later and see what factor's I would like to change but basically. I just used it to reprogram my fans

thanks for all the info. i bought a hypertech programmer . found out that i can only program one car at a time so once i set my car i can not set my other car with out undoing my first car or buying another hypertech programmer.
