2.2 ecotec , plus some.

On friday I cleaned a 2003 sunfire. It had a DOHC 2.2 ecotec. Did the intake manifold get switched back to front or were all of them like that?
strong lil motor and it has 5speed , problem is the engine is begging for a smaller body. Im thinkin fire fly wide bodied (add wheel arches) 205/60/R15's AA , stock motor with only wiring , plugs , charge sytem upgrade , amped fuel delivery high temp gaskets , thermostat and a simple 50 shot of dry nitrous. Then id put a Good sports clutch and lighter flyweel. What respectably could this lil car do? Any speculations would be apretiated.

well the eco doesnt have wires, it has a coil pack like the older quads. but with those mods you would run in the 14s. and the TB has always been in the front of the engine.

Thats weird about the tb in the front , coulda sworn i seen them the other way around before.Oh well , 14's would be pretty good in that lil car. What you figure your car would do with the same mods i described?

That is very interesting setup on the ignition for the ecotec. I had another look since you mentioned the coil packs , I never really knew much about those , kinda interesting , does it work like a glow plug or hows that work?

Re: 2.2 ecotec , plus some.

basicly theres a plastic part under the cover, where it says ecotec, or on the twin cams it says 2.4 twin cam. but that sparks down to the spark plug. search around the internet for IDI and maybe through in quad 4 with it. im sure you can find something that explains it better then i ever could
