I want this for new toy...

Saw this on the news tonight, and looked it up a bit:

http://dsc.discovery.com/news/afp/20...ornershot.html#

http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99994487

Don't know about you guys, but I love it, and wouldn't mind owning one, one of these days. Plus the fact that it potentially works with most handguns make it even more appealing. I see a home at the tip of one those for one of these babies:

Re: I want this for a new toy...

the US govt has something similar in the works called the land warrior system. the front of the gun is mounted with a camera that transmits to an eyepiece connected to your helmet so you can put the gun around a corner and see what's there without exposing yourself. the only place you can get shot is in your hand.

Actually, last night's news report stated that they were talking about combining the Land-Warrior system with the Corner Shot...

For those that don't know, that is a full-auto Glock that I have pictured above...

SonyMobile: That small "box" thing that is just right before the bend of the weapon is a video monitor with targeting cross-hairs on it. The camera is mounted to point where a targeting laser would, for accuracy. As a matter of fact, you can even combine it with a laser.

they used to have a Super Soaker and a Nerf foam dart gun that did that.

not like it's new technology or anything, it's just that now it's being used for DEADLY weapons.

i still have that Super Soaker somewhere...

Most people have a problem shooting in a straigt line. Imagine trying to aim that thing. It must have very short riflling killing some of the accuracy.

Re: I want this for a new toy...

All that just for a 9mm round? That sucks. The Land Warrior system has been out for a while, but at least with that you have a full rifle barrell instead of a 25lb gun to shoot with the accuracy/range of a pistol.

Actually, it's simply a holder for a handgun at the end. Any modern semi/full-auto pistol fits. That's why I put up a picture of the full-auto capable Glock, as that would be my choice to go in there.

That seems to be its inherent flaw, as it is a short-barrel weapon esssentially, and doesn't have much range.

From what I saw in the news piece, and from personal experience, I would say that it would be easier to aim it, as the video monitor with the cross hairs is VERY accurate to certain range, and just needs a simple lining-up, and a steady trigger-pull.

Wow, a pistol with a camera. How totally 10 years ago. Seriously, what a wank. Mind you, will be good for middle eastern nations who simply hide and spray without aiming, that said, they'll need to learn how to shoot with their eyes open.
