Long time members have been wanting this for a long time

Ladies and gentlemen, lovers and haters, I have an announcement:

My spoiler has been ripped off of my car.

You read it right. New Years around midnight, while I was out trying to enjoy the holiday, some deranged vandal ripped the spoiler right off of my car. Peices of the spoiler are still attached to the screws I had to leave in the holes to keep the rain out of my trunk. I know some of you are laughing your asses off now and that is why I am posting this. I can get a picture if you want. But for everyone who is laughing just think about the implications of this crime.

If someone can just destroy part of YOUR car because THEY don't like it, then it just forces everyone into conformity until all originality and flavor is gone from the world. This may just be some small $800 act of hate or pure drunken stupidity, but chances are the persons who did this will go unpunished and I end up with a car that just isn't mine anymore. It's now what someone else wanted it to look like. I hope you can see the seriousness of this as well as the humor.

I'm not asking for anything, just informing the community of what happens to an auto enthusiast with tastes different than the mainstream. Have a blessed new year and drive safely.

That sucks man. Personally I didn't like the look of that spoiler, but that's only my personal opinion. But still, you don't just rip off someone's sh*t. Damn why can't people just save up their own $ and buy their own stuff, and also not mess with other peoples' things.

Sorry to hear what happened to your car New Years. I may not have liked the spoiler, but still, I'm sorry to hear what they did. It's wrong when people ruin another persons property. Just becasue they don't like it or because they are drunk, whatever the reason, that doesn't give them the right to go about destroying your property that you worked hard for. Sorry to hear thatthis happened. I hope you can get everything fixed soon.

Are you going to call up your insurance and make a comp (comprehensive) claim. All you should end up having to pay is the deductable.

Re: Long time members have been wanting this for a long time

hey, well eckoman, I only have liability on my car because its bluebooked at just 2,500 so its kinda pointless to spend 1500 a year on insurance. but even if I did my deductable was like 500 when I did have it so not worth it there either. I just have to eat it. But, I won't be replacing the spoiler, I'm just gonna leave it stock, for 2 reasons: 1) for some odd reason I have more thump in my bass. Might have to do with the weight of the spoiler hampering the trunk's vibrations before... I dunno. and 2) drag is less on my car now so it should be a lil faster.

I would still rather have it because it was like a trademark. I mean, it was MY car. But, its not worth spending another few hundred to get back. So its staying off. People generally like it better anyways.

If you have liability you should have compreshive coverage. Comperhensive is different than collision, and is almost always included when you just have liability insurance. I have yet to meet an insurance agent who will insure someone without comprehensive coverage. Vandalism and theft like this would be covered under compreshive. Now you would still have to pay the comprehensive deductable, so you'd have to call your agent/insurance company and see how much that is. If you don't want the wing anymore, maybe you could have the body shop put on/paint a new/used trunk instead of having them install paint a new wing. This way you wouldn't have broken ends on the car, and you wouldn't have holes in the trunk left from removing the wing.
