ram air VS. cold air

I am 15 and really bored. Should I put in ram air or cold air? Which is better for fast acceleration or whatever?

A Ram Air Intake gives you moderate gains about 5 HP+ but a cold air could give you twice as much and that is because colder air burns better than hot air.

Depending on your car and how low your filter is to the ground it will be up to you to decide which one you want. This really also depends on how much space you have in your engine bay. If a cold air intake for your car can go as low as 1 foot close to the ground it is worth it.

a ram air intake will give you the same temperature as a cold air intake if not colder. cold air jsut moves your intake to somewhere further away from your engine ( which makes air around it hot ). A ram air intake takes air from outside of your engine bay and at high speeds helps to compress it. the compression is not noticeable at low speeds and barely noticeable at higher speeds ( nothing like a turbo or sc) but it does help. Ram will give you a little more hp than just a cold air intake.

What to do depends on the application. However, ram air does only work in higher speeds and give very little gain. It's also very important on where the intake is placed and how it's designed, many intakes I've seen is not only wrong placed but also with the wrong design from my basic knowledge of car aerodynamics.

A simple and very good way is to take in cold air close to the windshield which is a high pressure zone.
