tranny and skyline engine swap

First question:
Does anyone know where I can find a 1990 N/A 2+2 transmission that is in good condition. My car was made in august of 1989 so the normal 90-96 transmission will not bolt directly into the Stock mounts. I am pretty sure that Nissan made an auto tranny for special for 89 and 90 cars that will work for mine. Dont quote me but thats what im thinking. Also i know that a 87' tranny will not fit. A company has tried to order me both and neither worked. The first tranny was out of a 93 and the second like i said out of a 87. please help. im really frustrated right about now and i do not want to have to order a brand new transmission straight from nissan that they want over 2000 for.

Second Question:
I have been reading on a thread that you can drop in a Rb25det engine into a 300zx. I was wandering if i bought the rb25det engine with the tranny attached and the ecu with harnesses. What else would i need to convert it over completely and would it be worth it to do that swap or a do a Vg30dett swap?

Re: tranny and skyline engine swap

Yes you will... That kind of power will need either a new LSD, or the stock Skyline rear end. Hit me up for prices

Re: tranny and skyline engine swap

Well... Why not just use the RB26DETT transmission???? It doesnt have to be AWD, just weld off the output closed. No big deal. More cost effective as well. $5,500 for RB26DETT clip, shipped. The clip includes engine, transmission, wiring, ECU/M, RHD dash set-up. Night7Racing is in Phoenix just for future reference.

Re: tranny and skyline engine swap

Ok Check it out. First putting a Rb series motor in a 300 is more complicated than the old Z's. They drop in the old ones. Newer have to be cut. Second a Z32 transmission bolts to RB26. That out of a 90 model and up 300ZX.
