Help me breathe

I have a 91 Camaro RS with the V8 305. I want to purchase an intake, headers, hi flow cat, exhaust. Im looking for the most cost effective combination that increases the hp the most and has the deepest throatiest growl. Anyone have suggestions for products and where to buy would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm an advocate for edelbrock, so that's my suggestion. Get a catalog or visit the site.

Re: Help me breathe

I have the same car, I got a set of Edelbrock tes headers, Flowmaster 3" cat-back, I'm going with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. As for the air intake, i'm customizing my own, when it's done i'll post some photo's of it.

Re: Help me breathe

Ide say if you wanted a deap throaty growl.. Borla is the best way to go.. A borla catback, or just stainless mandrel pipe with a borla muffler.. In mY opinion, borla are the best sounding mufflers, and a little louder then flowmaster..
Do you have the dual air intake on that? If so, its easy to make your own "ram air" system.. it took me about 15 minutes.. K&N filters are a must..
Edelbrock make great intake manifolds and headers..

Never bought a cat, dont have one.. So I cant help ya there..

Re: Help me breathe

Yeah, borla is over priced, but they do have a mean growl. As far as the rest. Get the edelbrock performer TBI intake, TES exaust, includes headers and performance y-pipe, get a good high flow converter, and the flowmaster american thunder cat back, and the thermomaster chip. all of that will increase you about 50hp. You can also get the holley 670cfm TBI system for about $360 or so and that will give you another 25 or 30. And that's all bolt on and still legal. So all of that will put you at about 265hp, which is good. That's more than the Z-28 put aout from the factory. For more you'll have to do some more stuff.
