Camber kit?
I know that Iīve asked this question a lot of times for the ITR but now Iīll buy y2k VTEC Lude and I need to know if Iīll need a camber kit when Iīm lowering it so that the gaps between stock rims/ tires and wheel-wells will be gone?! Normally I would say that I will need one but I had a look on www.HondaPrelude.com and most of the lowered Ludes donīt have got one. If I need one should I buy a complete kit or just one for the front? Thanx for your help.

id go ahead and buy the camber correction kit if you are going to lower it. my bf and his friends that have ludes have noticed a neg camber on thier ludes when it is at stock height. btw are you planning to use coilovers or springs?

my lude has positive (eek!) camber in the front at stock height. with a 1.5" drop on Ground Controls, the camber is about -.5 which is within tolerance and about perfect for what i use the car for.

I will buy some H&R springs and Koni yellows. Iīve got a similar setup (dunno which brand the springs are/ Koni yellows) on my 2.0i 4th gen Lude and I love it! The main reason why I want to lower it is because I donīt like the gaps between the tires and wheel-wells. So Iīd guess I have to go kind of low. But out of any stupid reasons camber kits are nearly not available and totally uncommon over here and they arenīt street-legal, too!!
So if there wouldnīt be a real need for a camber kit I wouldnīt buy one. But with the drop I will need....I was just wondering why most of the lowered Ludes www.HondaPrelude.com dont have got a camber kit.

cuz the lude really doesnt need a camber kit. i dont have one.
to remove the wheel well gap, you'd only have to drop it about 1.5"... with that little of drop, camber isnt really affected much. i even dropped my accord 2", and didnt need a camber kit to get it aligned properly. |

For those who are interested - please read the terrific info that Specialty Products has on its website (www.specprod.com). ANY drop will change the Camber. For each 1" of drop there is ~0.75 degree of negative change. My ride was lowered on Neuspeed Sport springs I needed kits on all 4 corners. Get the car aligned and if you are within spec, then you don't need kits. However, that does not mean you are at the ideal settings either. I did an alignment before the drop and then immediately after. The kits put the car back to my starting point-with 1 exception the Caster up front is now on the high side of the range and to change it is a major pain. Then again I like the way it handles.
