1999 svt cobra vs c5 vette ?

i know that the 1999 svt mustang cobra had horsepower issue's and made a fix, how would a 99-01 svt cobra do against a c5 vette " both stock " i know the vette will pull away on top end

Is it just me or does Ford not really seem to be high in competition with teh vet. Unless you want to bring in the new GT its a sweet looking ride

Remember at that time the GT was competive to the Camaro, when it was around. Now I do believe Ford is going after the Vette with its new GT, and I can't wait to see what the next gen Cobra will be doing.

I'd say the Vette as long as no serious fuck ups. The Mustangs and the Mustang Cobras are never really ment to compete with the Corvette. Even the Ford GT isn't really competition cause it's price and performance are way beyond a Vette.

only reason i ask is because on svtperformance, a kid has a 1999 svt cobra with minor mods such as gears, exuast, and think he said he had the fix done, he says that he can pull on c5 vette's and i just wanted some answers from here

I think a Mustang SVT Cobra with some good gear's for highway racing and some bolt on's. no extreme's needed it could be a contender for the Vette but then again throw in a couple of courve's and the vette once again will pull on the Stang but there not really aimed at the same market.

the c5 couple only runs a 13.1, the z06 on the other hand ran a 12.5.

I'm a total Mustang guy but that year simply doesn't stack up against the vette. Give Ford a year now that they've knocked out Camaro. We may see a Cobra vs. Corvette show.
