Vafc Install throws code

after installing a vafc on my 99 gsr it throws code 22 which is vtec malfunction..has anyone had this problem..i redline 1st and 2nd fine then 3rd and the cel comes on..people with a vafc ..did you connect the blue wire (vtm signal wire)??..anyone know how to fix this..i know the problem is linked to the vafc install..
