block or add-a-leaf?

I'm gettin a suspension lift this summer and for the rear there are a combinations of things i can do to get the right amount of lift (just a block, block and add-a-leaf, new springs). does anybody know if a block or an add-a-leaf would give me a better ride. I figured that a block would maintain about the same ride quality cause all you are doing is raising the stock springs while an add-a-leaf would stiffen the springs. any feedback would help thanks
