Question 89 Z24 Rear Speaker Help

I Just Bought 6x9 Speakers With Are Pioneer Ts-a698or When I Got The Car There Where No Rear Speakers I Need Help In How To Install Them I Tryed To Use Holes That Where There I Got No Where The Screws Kept Coming Loose If There Is Any One That Can Help Me Any Help Would Be Great On How To Get Them Mounted In There Thanx !

if they are anything like my 94, there should have been metal brackets that the speakers actually rest on. that's the main problem with cavy rear speakers-they are not mounted within a casing. if there weren't any brackets, go to a parts store or even a junkyard, they shouldn't be that hard to come by. btw, i also have pioneer 6x9s rear speakers, and they make the brackets VEEERY snug. hope that helps

THANX SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP ILL TRY TO SEE IF I CAN FIND BRACKETS TO MOUNT THEM MY FREIND EVEN TOLD ME ZIP TIES WORK NOT SURE ON HOW WELL THEY STAY IN PLACE WITH THEM I HAVE A QUESTION DID YOU HAVE TO WEILD YOUR BRACKETS OR DO THEY FIT INTO PLACE

89 Z24 Rear Speaker Help

GOd, no if i had to weld anything, i wouldnt do it...lol

anyway, i thought i'd post a pic of what mine looks like. i dunno how the older z24's r but if they're the same then here's what u should have. on the bracket, there should be ends that hook into slots on the upper side of the trunk, and if ur putting in those pioneers, once they're in, they wont budge unless u pull em out...sorry, i'll shut up now and show u the pic...
