Climate Control Fan Settings?

Has anyone had any trouble with the fan settings on the manual climate control unit. the first three setting don't work but 4 and 5 work. This is strange because at first the 5 setting didn't work and one day I got in and 1-3 didn't work but 4 and 5 did. Any suggestions. No problems other than this and my taillight?

I have the 03 Trailblazer, and no climate control problems for me, but I have a friend with a 03 TB and he had the same problem you are having. He took it in and they replaced the switch and problem solved!Hope this helps.

Re: Climate Control Fan Settings?

The blower motor resistors burn out, they have been redesigned, only cost about $30 dollars and are easy to change.

Where can I purchase the blower motor resistors and where are they located on the truck? I do a lot of work my self and this is not a problem.

Re: Climate Control Fan Settings?

It is a dealer only part, the number is 15415789.
it is located under the right side of the dash at the bottom the the heater case, it is held in by a couple of screws.

I re-read your post, with #5 speed coming & going you should test the switch first, the resistor is solid state and when they burn out they do not usually come back.

climate control fan

I am taking it in on Monday (extended warrenty). I am pretty sure that it is the resistor, but that might involve replacing the switch too. I will let you know.
