Re: rear end upgrade
If anything, putting a 8.8" in your 2.3 will make it slower. For one, you don't have enough power to take advantage of the limited slip rear diff. Two, the 8.8" weights more then a 7.5" rear that you already have. If you really want to multiply the output of the engines "little" torque, then just get a steep set of gears for the 7.5" rear.

I know very lil about the 4-bangers but don't those 7.5 in 4-Bangers already have steeper gears than the 8.8 rear-ends too?

Re: rear end upgrade
True, but I doubt they have 4.30's or 4.56's in them!

Re: rear end upgrade
the automatic 2.3's had 3.73:1's but i heard that the teeth on the 4.10 gears for a 7.5 rear end are very slim and they break easily. so id keep the 7.5 as it is.
