Unhappy HELP GTS or GTS coupe or sr5

Ok its hard to find these car but i found one of each. What should i get i need help! ok first i really want the gts hb because i drift in a hb b4. Here is a lil about the cars>>> GTS HB asking 4,000! it has a bad oil problem and NO LSD! damn! it also has a very bad side rear panel with bondo and faded paint. i think it has about 180,000 miles on it.OH and its salvage title. I want it but maybe i should get that price down?!?! how much should i ask for it?? cause its my first choice. Next is a coupe gts with very bad paint but thats ok cause no dents or hit. It DOES have stock lsd and runs gewd cause its sold at a small dealer. thur asking 3,500. the only thing is inter is BAD! Last ther is a great looking sr5 well its runs perfect and only one owner by some old man. The car has no rust and been garaged the paint is perfect. but its a sr5 what would i have to do ta get it to a GTS. is the sr5 rwd?? dunno to much about that. Well i have around 5,000 dollars to spend on a car rite now and if i save i can do stuff to it but i deno what to get?!?! Can someone help me?? and if i get one what should i do with it and how much should i ask for it?!?! specially that gts hb cause its salvage and 4,00 is alot for that!

Re: HELP GTS or GTS coupe or sr5

Get a GTS don't even think twice man. You will save so much money in the long run I meen you will basically have to buy a gts parts car to convert it in the first place. I have 2 Hatch backs and I have driven a coupe with similar mods ,and the coupe felt stiffer (less chasis flex) so I'd say go with the coupe exspecialy with lsd a nice find. I wanted a coupe but all I find are hatch backs funny eh? most of the time it's the other way around. Go with the coupe belive me they look awsome with kouki smoked tail lights and decent paint! go to club4ag.com and look at members by the log in at the top of the page then look for paradox he is my friend and has his coupe set up awesome. Interior can be replaced alot cheaper than buying and installing a lsd.

Re: HELP GTS or GTS coupe or sr5

well kouki bumpers are every where toysport sells brand new ones but you can find them for sale used on the club4ag forums for anywhere from 150-300 depending on if they have backets and condition. A 20v bolts in but however the electronics and plumbing are completely different. It is possible to do it your self but would be hard with out proper tools and all the parts necesary for the install (sensors, correct ecu and harness) the 20v have 2 variations the ae101 silver top and the ae111 black top I have seen silver top motors (no sensors or electronics) for $450 complete they g for adound 1000 the black tops go for around 1400 complete. I have heard of people paying up to 5000 for a complete swap so it all depends I guess I am currently installing a ae111 in one of my cars.

Re: HELP GTS or GTS coupe or sr5

ok i checked out the gts coupe and it has 191,000 miles needs new brakez and the car moves slight to the left so needs aligned im guessing. There is a leak but looks like its coming from the radiator. everything else is in good condition. still pulls and no noise from the trann or the lsd. As for intr it has a crack on the dash thats all im worried about with intr casue i heard its harder ta find dash. but witha ll that i got him down 500 so it going for 2,500 about 2,750 with tax cause its at a dealer. So what do you think??? is it a gewd deal??? clean title thats what he said. Should i get it?? its pure stock nothing has been done to the car. or should i still lok for a better deal???

Re: HELP GTS or GTS coupe or sr5

well everyone and there grandma want's one of these cars now lol, so look at it this way If for some wierd reason you ever decide to sell it you will make your money back easy I wouldn't be surprised to see ae86's going for 10,000 in a couple of years. I will admit though 2,750 is alot but inflation is inflation I paid 900 for my black one and 600 for my red one, but both had problems when I bought them, and that was like 2-3 years ago, so I guess you got a good deal considering drifting getting popular and most cars with a lsd go for about 3000+ on club 4ag. I would never pass up on a car like that I mean think of the chances of finding another one, realy. Just go for it these cars are getting close to being 20 years old and you have to expect wear and tear. As far as interior you can get a dash from a totaled out SR5 or GTS a dash is alot easier to find than a lsd equiped ae86. The brakes on ae86's are EASY to replace takwes like 20 minutes to replace the back rotors and pads front rotors take some creative tatics with out proper tools haha but it's about a 45minute job so I wouldn't worry about that.

email me at [email protected] with whatever questions you got and I know where a few wrecked ae86's are so I could possibly get you some interior pieces.

Well, I would say to ask yourself some questions. First of all how much knowledge do you have in the automotive field? If not you will need alot more money than 5K, especially for a 20 years old car, there will be lots of things need to be replace and rebuild. The other question is how much time can you or will you willing to work on the car if you happens to have the knowledge to do so.

Re: HELP GTS or GTS coupe or sr5

The seat you are looking for is no longer in production since about sept of 03 BRIDE has re designed there seats, you can still find used ones though. anyway it is called BRIDE Brix was a reclining seat sold for $600-$800 there is a tuning company in japan that rebuild ae86's that re aposters the doors and rear arm rest with the material too I know what you meen that seat is awesome I've been wanting one for like 3 years. On the bright side you can get used ones of Yahoo auctions Japan like 250-400 USD so thats cool. FYI BRIDE is not pronounced BRIDE it's pronounced Brid. I said bride over the phone to a sales rep at Gspeed and he laughed then I said Brid to my friends and they laughed at me, so thats some useless info rite there ubnless you talk to a Japoanese guy.
