what kind of printer used to print decals?

hey im wondering wut kind of printer u use to print decals? cuz i wanna make my own decals and stuff u know but ya..thank you

I use an alps MD5000 it works great.

you can buy decal paper for your inkjet printer. you have to bear in mind that your printer cannot print white (whereas an alps printer can). you can buy decal paper that is white instead of transparent though. you will just have to be very accurate when you cut them out.

if i remember correctly (someone please correct me if im wrong) but i believe they are no longer been produced. you would have to buy one second hand...maybe through ebay. i think they are quite pricey too

they no longer make them but you can get one on ebay for about 300

I made these decals using the alps printer

ALPS still make MD-5500, but not available outside Japan. It's about $550.
I have MD-5000, and works alright for both decal and regular color printing.
Alternatively, you can use color laser printer, but it's still expensive to buy. You might be able to find a print shop, which allows you to use the decal paper for laser printer.

So you can use those inkjet decal systems on a color laser? No problems with color-bleeding? Or do you have to do (or use) something different for the color laser? I've got easy access to a color laser, so that could fill my decal needs till you bring your ALPS into town.
