ka24de best ignition timeing

wondering what the best ignition timeing on a ka24de stock engine would be i was told 20 btdc this true?

That is the factory ignition timing. Your best bet would be to just trial and error it. move the distributor a little each way. I've heard that advancing it a little provides some gain.

Timing light only tells you what timing is. supposedly advancing past 2-3 degrees is detrimental to engine performance.

how do you figure advancing from 20btdc to 22 or 23 btdc will be detrimental. they arnt that far apart dude.

Go to timing change. If you want to tell them they're wrong, go for it, but they seem like they know their stuff.
