Completed: my first two models: New TypeR & FTO

Well, as some of you might remember, i had various problems with these two models, but now, i know how to get everything "right". I messed up the exterior on civic (enamel paint in an airbrush not spraying enamels - then "fixed" with a brush). My FTO fell a few times when i was spraying it, and it can still be seen, but not on the pics. Which are BTW shitty as my dad has a semi-pro camera and i dont know how to work with it Oh, FTO was sprayed with can-paint.
Anyways here are the pics:

Be gentle

look really great !

only thing (as must of the newbee lately) would be to paint the windows trim. without this, it look like a plastic car

ok tip of the day for the windows trim.

If you have a steady hand, but not a miracle hand like few modeller here (I don't have those hand ) get yourself a Gundam Black Marker and tamiya thiner. have a Qtips around too.

Use the marker to make the line of the windows trim (you can make panel line too, on dark color it look great) if you make a mistake, tamiya thiner will remove the Gundam paint, but will not hurt the paint (unless you rub very hard with the qtips)

once the contour are made, you will find this very easy to paint the windows trim. Try useing Acrylic paint for that (ex: ModelMaster Flat black Acrylic paint) if you make mistake, you can remove it with Tamiya thiner or simple water. you have about 30 seconds to remove it if you make a mistake (without rubbing, this paint dry very fast)
if you work slowly, this tip will guide you for a while (i still use it)

I think they both look good. I can't think of any tips right now, but practice makes perfect or better. I still learn new techniques with every model I build.

The FTO looks pretty good but it really does need the window trim.

I think being a little more constructive works better. How about, "Good work just try taking your time on painting, don't rush."

I'm not sure if that's exactly what he did on the paint but, a comment like "Yuck!" doesn't help him. Just offer him some tips on how you would've done it instead. I think it's a good effort, keep practicing.
