96 v.s. 90 gt
My friend has a '96 gt that's pretty nice, custom shelby blue stripes and stuff. Also he's got a shift comp. that makes it kick a li'l harder and flowmaster exhaust. We've only run em a couple times w/ my stock '90 gt ( both autos) and the first time i got smoked. He came around a corner and stomped it and I followed suit, but i got stuck in the low end of 2nd gear and he was gone by the time i got to about 80
. I mean, i could barely see his tail lights. The second time, I was ready to turn into a dealership and he went by me and flipped me the bird to say hi, so I forgot the dealership and went after him. I got to the back of his bumper at around 45 m.p.h. and he stood on the throttle and we went at it. By the time we let off i was at his front axel with my bumper and doing around 120 . I never really knew how the holeshot was so important, even at a rolling start. Ever since i was a freshmen i thought that car was badass and thought it couldn't be beat. You know, just one of those inexperienced kid things. I now have new respect for my ever faithfull 5.0.

The only reason you got smoked the first time is cause with the shift computer. His auto will kick down a gear lot sooner and hold it each gear longer with firmer upshifts. Go get yaself a nice shift-kit for ya AOD and in the same sequence you'll keep up.
