engine spec question
i've recently begun to study up on the whole engine mod/swap scene, and there's one piece of info i can't find anywhere. can anyone tell me where i can find out the weights of D series engines, specifically the D15B7? it seems to me that the weight of the engine is a significant factor in determining the results of a swap.
my thought is if i swapped from the D15 to a B16 or 18, the weight difference may seriously impede its handling, but i'm not really sure what the weight difference is. maybe i'm wrong, i still have a lot to learn. thanks. |

Re: engine spec question
I don't know the engine weights, but the Del Sol's were designed to hold a D-series and a B16A so neither will impede your performance. The weight difference between a B16A and a B18x is negligible.'
You really only need to concern yourself with engine weights if you are considering an H22 swap, and even then the engine weight isn't that large of a factor. People who swap H22's usually focus more on engine pitch and space constraints within the engine bay.
