4.3l cross-platform Engine swap questions.

Hello. I have a 92 SLT Jimmy with the 4.3l TBI V6 in it that has 242,000 miles. My buddy has a 91 Olds. Bravada with the a far newer version of the same motor and (I think) the same tranny. My motor is old and needs to be rebuilt, but hes offering his Olds. up for a cheap sum.

My questions is: Will the motor/tranny from his truck, essentially a re-badged Blazer/Jimmy fit into mine, and will it require much in the way of modification? I understand maybe new mounts and such, but electrically and such?

I can't really figure out where to find the answer to this one, so I hope you all can help!

It's a TBI. opening the hood it loks almost exactly the same, but I wanted a pro opinion before I decided to do it. You know how it is, between years they will move a hole a half inch for some reason and screw everyone down the line.

lol
