Car Wont Start,Coolant inside cylinders

Last week on friday i was going to the gas station to put gas ,bcuz i was runinning on E.My car shut off right infront of the gas station.I tried to start it again an white smoke started coming out. Then i put gas and it wouldnt start. The next day i took out the spark plugs and saw coolant in side the 1st and fourth cylinder. If anyone knows what the problem is please help. Also did a compression test. All the cylinder compressions where different. One was 40, 90, then 60.Is this the head gasket. My car has never overheated.D15B2 sedan

40?? 90?? 60?? wow, that is low.

you should check the head gasket first of all...

Re: Car Wont Start,Coolant inside cylinders

Most likely it would seem like the gasket. If you know how to take the head off, get it off and have taken to a machine shop. You might have cracked the head or warped it. You'll be able to tell is teh gasket it bad when you remove the head..

Re: Car Wont Start,Coolant inside cylinders

I had the same problem. It would start up fine the first time of the day, but drive it a while, park, get out to get some gas or something and try to restart it and it wouldn't start except after a few minutes of effort. I knew it was a bad head gasket because I could smell coolant being burnt out of the tail pipe along with the white ploom of smoke.

I'm actually finishing up my work on the car now. I'm replacing the gaskets (head, intake, exhaust). I also discovered cracks in the radiator hoses so those are being replaced as well.

Re: Car Wont Start,Coolant inside cylinders

same with me, blew my head gasket, and decided it was woth ditching the engine for a b16. Its still in the garage from that choice. It has taken over a month for them to get the parts from hasport.

Good luck, Evan

it sounds like a blow head gasket to me....

oh wait, that's been said already

here is the info we gave ahzab33 on how to fix it. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=193301

as setanta & i mentioned in that thread, it is important you check for warpage and have stuff machined. or you'll just end up with another blown head gasket in the near future.

to be totally honest it may be easier and cheaper (in the long run) to just drop in a replacement d15 or d16.

you use a bit that goes onto a drill. it's a rubber piece. i dunno the "name" of it. i'm sure somebody around here does. you can't stay in one spot too long or the block will heat up and wrap in that spot. you need to move around while working.

Gen Info - Just incase any coolant ever does make it into the block. Just make sure it gets flushed out with enough oil changes, to get it all out. Otherwise it will destroy the bearings from the reamining coolant, due to the oil being contaiminated....
