Occasionally, when the engine is turned off and the key is removed the partink lights stay on and the tone that indicates that the key is still in the ignition keeps sounding. I thought that it had something to do with the cold weather, but it has been realatively warm lately and it recently started again. Is this a problem internal to the ignition switch, or a more complex electrical problem I need to have chevrolet look into. Also if someone call tell me the amp drop from the battery when the ignition is turned over I would be intrested in knowing that, so I will know if the battery is going to need to be replaced as well. (It has drained twice in as many days.)

Re: HELP!!! intermittant electrical problem
Check the light switch... I had a similar problem with my 03 2500HD in that the door chime would stay on with the key out of the ignition and the door open. It turned out to be that the light switch was slightly turned from the "AUTO" position.
