I'm helping my friend shop for a new car. She is interested in this 00 Eclipse we saw, but I know nothing about them. The car is loaded, auto, sunroof, and the dealer is asking $11,995. Is there anything we should be aware of for this year before we go and look at it, are there any problem areas and such?
Thanks, Craig

Re: Buying a 2000 Eclipse
There are no major issues at all with the 2000 year Eclipse. If anything, that is the year to get because the 2001's and up have different, more strict emissions.
The only thing that may be an issue are the runners for the sunroof. After a while they start to bend and the sunroof will shake and vibrate when it is opened. Not really TOO much of an issue, but annoying nonetheless. Depending on the mileage, I'd say thats a good buy. Too bad its an auto though. |

Yeah, well she really wants an auto not a stick and since it's not my car I have no say. Also, she just told me it has 54k miles. Thanks for your help.

Re: Buying a 2000 Eclipse
No prob man
![]() With 54k miles I'd try and get it for $10,500. $12,000 is a bit much for that. |
