Puff O smoke after starting

My Rodeo has been sitting more than usual lately and I am noticing quite a bit of smoke coming from the tailpipe after starting it. I'll let it run for about 20 seconds or so and it appears to stop. I can smell the burning oil and the color of the smoke is blue. I'm thinking valve guide seals.

Any opinions on the oil burning problem?

If it is valve guide seals-

My friend and I did a Mitsubishi seal replacement and it took a lot of time. Pull the valve cover, timing belt, camshaft, rocker arm assembly, then we had access to the valve springs. We used a type of valve spring compressor that clamps on the spring and it worked well. I am wondering if the compressor will clear everything on the Isuzu. Now 24 valves doesn't sound so good to me anymore...

I am planning on keeping the car for a while.

TIA,
Dale

valve guide seals

Yup, that sounds about right. My last truck, did the samething (Chevy S10). Sometimes it did sometimes it didn't. I ran it like this for at least 60k before I sold it with 181k on the ticker. Even with 181K on it, it would only use about 0.5qts of oil every 3k, which is about what my Amigo has done since new.

It is up to you, but make sure you watch the oil.
