Thumbs down Auto P11's are too slow!

I was out creepin last night and I saw a Lancer pull up to me and try to accelerate and sh*t. I was like ok, I should get him. We were already going about 40mph and so I punched it and I got like a car length on him. I cut off at about 60mph but if we had gone 1/4 he would have caught up and beat me. I think he had a stick but some food for thought: Infiniti should have never put a 140hp engine in a 3100lb car. Makes no muthafunkin sense. I guess they thought they could produce another car by adding 600lbs and keeping the SR20DE and giving it a name. I would expect this from a Hyundai or something but not Nissan. But hey, I bought the damn car so I'll quit bitchin.

You shouldn't worry, the G can take out Hyundai Accents!

Btw, I think that if your sole reason for buying a car, let a lone a G, was to race, then you should have invested in something faster. Of course, you can make the G faster, by adding a turbo etc - but if you wanted to race, why not just go out and buy a WRX or a turbo SAAB .

I'm not into racing - so I could care less about the G having 140 hp.

Here is the deal Atomic. I kinda just ended up with this G. I had a 96 toy tercel and totalled it. I didn't have too much time to work up some money to get a new ride and I needed transportation to work. I lucked out and got a good deal on it, so I got it. I like everything about the car except the power and the cupholder, and that's pretty much it. That's why I'm just hooking it up cosmetically so I can role tight for a while...while I stack up on some cheese to get what I want. I wanted a Celica GT-S, but didn't have enough time to work up the money for it.

Just might do it to. Lancers only have like 130-140 hp. If that. I'll get one if you do.

Lancers have 120hp I have a modded P10 MT and raced my cousins yellow MT Lancer. I beat him by at least 8 car length. Next time race with the OD off.

Well, I'm stock and I'm pretty sure he was stock. Basically, a G20 has to have at least CAI/Headers/Exaust to compete with anything, b/c it is so heavy. Do you know how much P10's weigh?

I drive an auto too...and i was about dead even with a 1.8L mirage (about 111 hp I believe) stick going from 0-60...I slowly passed him from 40mph on...consider that mirage is only 2500 car, the new Lancer has 2.0 120hp should be about the same as the mirage

I agree with Atomic...the G20 is not for racing...but i like how it looks, and racing doesnt matter to me.

I can honestly say the G20 is a very, I mean very good looking car. But when people see Infiniti, you would expect luxury and performance. It just sucks that a weak 4 banger can come up to you and you don't know if you can beat him or not.

Yeah, it sucks that you are wondering if you can beat a weak four banger(lancer)...but cuz we are auto, and they are stick, they still have the advantage...if they are auto, we can beat it easily...
but with auto, we should do bout the same as Civic Ex, Lancer, Integra Auto, and cars about the same horses as us

First of all the SR20DE is NOT an weak engine. It's one of the best 4-bangers out there today. Admittedly it's dated but still a trooper.

If you don't want to mod you car to get more power, turbo, nos, whatever then get something else.

If you love to buy power adders for you car and get results while looking good doing it the G is your ride.

There is a solution out there for your power woes, now quit your bitchin'

YEAH......... j/k. The G weighs around 2800lbs. (heavier for auto. and touring) so says MSN. The Lancer is lighter by 70-170lbs. depending on which model. The GS-R is 150lbs. lighter and the Si is 200lbs. lighter. Power to the ground is a different story. The SR blows away any Honduh engine.

I don't see the day that an Lancer can stand by my side after releasing the clutch!!! no way, at least if is not turboed. Evos are something else, but lancer is not car to race a Primera/g20.
