Ah hell, I'll dive in, people take a guy who's pissed more seriously as a threat, if a girl yells at me I just kind of ignore it.

I'd say because as a guy I get paid higher wages, get more respect at my job, don't get called a whore for sleeping with multiple people, don't have to take any responcebility for getting a girl pregnant, it's great to be a guy right.....

HELL NO these things are all whats wrong with being a guy in todays society, we are allowed to be slackers, and horny f*** machines and the women in society just get to deal with being crapped on. On top of that we allow it to continue and of course most guys aren't going to try and stop it because we get the good end of the stick. I don't mean for this to sound like some feministic rant, but honestly we should take a better look at women in society and try to change this things so that we can remove ourselves from this viscious cycle of male dominated stupidity we've been stuck in for hundereds maybe even thousand of years. As guys we need to take a look at the women in our lives (girlfriends, wives, moms, etc.) and tell them thank you for doing al of the hard work they do and for loving us even though we all to offten don't treat them as equals, and all to often we don't see that we do this untill they leave us, and by then it's too late.

Was your mom a major member of NOW and was she the one who raised you? This is textbook womens rights material right here, most highly liberal women I know wouldn't be able to recite that moral code if they wanted to!

Um...since this is in philosophizing, lets have a "do men have it better, or do women" argument..
I'll argue for the women.
We get rights to the children we bear. Men have to prove paternity, and that usually gets them child support, but not visitation. Some states, such as Oregon, have laws that a woman can become pregnant via man A, and if while pregnant she marries man B, then the child legally becomes man B's. Man A has no parental rights, NONE.

Women are allowed to have women-only golf courses, clubs, and other such organizations. Every time men try to have a men-only group, women try and butt in.

Women can call "sexual harrassment" or "rape" on any man and effectively ruin his life merely with one accusation.

Women can't be drafted.

Women are protected (in the US) from genital mutilation by the FGM law passed in 1994. Men, on the other hand, routinely have their genitals mutilated without anesthetic as infants/children.

Women get to throw themselves big pity-parties about the lower wages and whatnot, and men can't really say anything to defend themselves lest they be called misogynist pigs. For what it's worth, they did some studies on that "lower wages" thing and found that it's partially caused by women not being assertive and asking for a raise, just expecting it to show up.

Why is it better to be a man? Why should it matter? Oh, and Goat Launcher? Maybe I responded negatively because it really shouldn't matter. Even though a persons sex can have an impact on many things in our lives, it really shouldn't. There are women that can do things better than any man, and vice versa, see what I'm sayin?

Women in different cultures have different issues to deal with. Men have them too and its hard enough to grasp the thought process that other guys go through, women are unfathomable.

to be honest with you all. around where i live. everyone is fairly equal. i work at a place that everybodys opinion matters and is looked upon the same. i think i would not mind being a woman but i also like being a guy too(so at night i crossdress)J/k
any way they both have ups and downs. you all probably know what these all are, so i think this is a fairly pointless thread.
