remove scratches from the windsheild

Any ideas how to remove light-med scratches from a windsheild ?

nothing can be done. Replace the windshield.
Theoretically, one can use a very fine polishing compound, like jeweler's rouge and a buffing wheel to buff out the scratches. However, the results would be a bit foggy and the buffed glass would have distortions.
However, this process is great for buffing tail lights.

Yeah unfortunately there is no real easy fix for the windshield that wouldnt result in a "cloudy" or "milky" appearance. Your best bet is to have the windshield replaced. And use a plastic bladed ice scraper and not a metal bladed one (if this applies). Our 1992 Saturn has a terrible windshield as a result of not only the ice scraper, but more so just the "sandblasting" effect from gravel and sand hitting it over the years. The only real fix for it was replacement.
