What is best way to remove scratches from exterior body?

Hi, I have two small scratches, which i would like to remove from my car. I have Accord 2005, Grey. Does any one knows any product that can do that? Like any special polishing products? Are they damaging paint? or Will it be notisable that i was doing something on this spot?

Apreciate any help.
thanks,
Max

how deep are the scratches?

If they are just on the surface usually a good wax and buff job will do the trick, but if they are deep you have to repaint it.

I work as a detailer and can tell you some options. Run your fingernail over the scratch, if you can feel the scratch on your nail, than ot will need to be wet-sanded/buffed out or depending on the severity may even need to be painted. Don't let anyone talk you into touch-up paint especially if the car is extremely clean and new as is the case, because that stuff is NOTICEABLE and will devalue your trade in value. If they are not deep meaning you don't feel them with your nail, a good compound/buff will get them out. I would sugest frst going to the local auto parts store and getting something like meguire's scratch-x or a good cleaner wax and using a little old-fashioned elbow grease. Most time scrathes are only marks on the clear-coat that will come off with a little effort. If they don't come out, wait until after winter, unless your in a warm-climate and take the vehicle to a detail shop for a detail, making sure to point out the scratches. No point in going now as winter will mmark up the car and you will have fine scracthes all over it anyway. Detailing the car will keep the paint fresh and will keep value at trade time.

If you use "meguires scratch X" or similar item, be sure to put a good quality wax over it after removing the scratch/swirl.

If they are minor(surface scratches/swirls) here's what I do:
Use a cleaner type wax, then a mild (sometimes heavy duty if they are a little deeper) rubbing compound, then a claybar(with lots of spray detailer for lubrication) then a glaze and finally a good wax. I only use meguiars nxt generation and mothers products and the results are incredible! It truly makes the paint look brand new!
