Short shifter help

i bought a short shifter and decided to install my self. i was trying to remove lever dust seal from old shifter and it ripped from the bottom. anyone know where i could get one online? also when installing short shifter where should i grease and does it matter what kind of grease? have a picture of what im talking bout just dont know how to post pics

You're gonna have to crawl under to do the shift linkage. Do a search, im sure you can find a how-to or something. I'd recomend doing bushings at the same time too.

i have bushings. when i was installing the change lever dust seal onto ball on short shifter the bottom part ripped. now dirt and crap can get in there. was wondering if anyone knew where i could get one at?

Yeah I had the same thing happen to me when I did my short shifter. The dealer will have what you are looking for but just watch out alot of the time the dont have it in stock and you have to wait a week or two. I think I payed a few bucks for it I really dont remember.

ordered it from dealer. Freakin $25.

1 question. when i take everythong apart,which spots should i grease (will be istalling ES bushings as well)?

Well the only place that I greased up a little was the ball and the seat of the short shifter. But you might want to double check. I dont remember paying that much for my little boot. ohh by the way what short shifter did you get?

yeh you should just grease the ball and seat it doesnt need it anywhere else. i had tons of fun puttin mine in same thing happened. thank god for the junkyard lol

Well most of the time when I take the thong apart I like to grease right between where the crack and .......

NA make sure you use lethum (spelling?) grease. It's like $2 for a can at your local auto parts store.
