No spark... I had that problem not too long ago and then realized I had left the crank sensor unplugged. With that signal gone it seemed the computer did not know when to fire.
Unfortunately I don't know of a way to test the crank sensor, coil pack or EDIS module, other than swapping them out (unless you want to get it in to a shop). The EDIS is easy enough to get to if you want to swa it check the results... otherwise check these other components. How do you know there is no spark? What have you done to determine that? s it possible you simply have the wires in the wrong order? Are the plugs and wires new? Have you done any other work recently?

I got this car dead, the battery was hooked up backward.The main 100a fuse was blown, after replacing that, I ran koko codes and got a coolant temp sensor code, and a 111 clear. I have 12v on the coil pack and have even gone so far as to take the plug wires off and lay my hand on the top of coil & engine while the engine was cranked. definitely no spark. The haynes book doesn't give any componet testing, just says to take it to a dealer. I did visually check the wires to the crank sensor, looked ok.

If you have checked out all the fuses and are sure the wiring is good... you either have a bad coil or a bad EDIS, which you probably already knew. I don't know of a way to test them other than to swap them out with known working parts. Both are easy enough to get to.
The only other thing that crosses my mind, and seems very unlikely, is that the timing belt is either loose or broken. Since the car was dead when you got it it may be worth taking a peek in there... maybe the cam isn't even turning?
