Question 1998 USDM 4 wheel disc brakes

I had origionally thought, that being a 1998 Legacy L, that my car would have rear drums. Well, I was looking at it today, and it doesn't. I assumed that rear disc brakes was a 2.5GT option. I do know that before I obtained the vehicle a couple of months ago, it had been involved in a front end collision about 2 years before. So, getting my hopes up, I'm wondering if my car could actually be a 2.5GT with an L hood. Is there any way of telling this in the 98s besides looking up the VIN? (Carfacts costs like $30, so I wasn't wanting to do that)

Re: 1998 USDM 4 wheel disc brakes

I have a L and its rear disc. I was surprised as you when I saw it. The GT has many exterior differences than the L. all the black is painted, theres a wing, the scoop, fog lamps. Also the 2.5L engine.
Heres how to figure out the VIN on your car
