Question cold-start injector on 95 Camry ?

Can someone please tell me where the darn Cold-start injector is on my 95?
I am assuming I have a similar problem. My Camry starts from the ½ a turn when it’s warm, but would not start at all in the morning, unless I hit the A/C first to bring
initial RPMs up.
A side question …
What is the best oil filter to use? I’d like to have a little bigger capacity filter & discovered yesterday that whoever done previous oil change installed PH4477,
but the book calls for TG4967 (Fram). The reason why I started fiddling with the filter –
oil light stays on for a second or two, after the engine started following the prolonged period of inactivity, but when restarted right away, light disappears right away.
I suspected anty-drain valve bad or missing on the PH4477, but it does the same thing with my new TG4967 – where the heck that oil goes?

Thanks for all your responses,

Red face thanks, still needd info

Thanks,

Study looks great, although it’s till not clear which filter (bigger capacity) I can use.
And also, I still need help determining if and where does my 95 has a Cold – start injector.

Thanks,

Answer: yes or no

V6 - Yes, it is on the left side of the air plenum in front of the brake vacuum assist line. Look for the fuel line attached to something running into the side of the IAC valve body.

4cyl - No

one other possibility on the hard starting, is there is an idle air control valve on the underside of the throttle body, this valve can stick and give you the hard start when cold, you can remove and free up the iac valve, let me know , for more info

Thumbs up thanks

Thanks a lot!!!

No it’s not a V6 and so it is yes the I4… So I don’t have the injector, but sure interested in that IAC valve. How do you say I can free it up? Cleaner, something else?

Thanks again for all your posts!

Re: cold-start injector on 95 Camry ?

there are two ways, quick way, take the air intake tube off of the throttle body, you will see a small hole on the bottom of the body , inside, try spraying some lubricant , silicone spray, wd40 , etc, down that hole, quite a bit, reinstall tube, start car, turn ac on and off, slowly,
if that doesnt work, need to remove iac motor and free up manually , can be a little tricky, let me know if you want to try it, or let a dealer do it, should charge you cheap money to do it,

Thanks again for your help,

I will try doing it myself first and use the dealer as a last resort. I recently replaced the whole air intake tube, because it was cracked. It’s quite possible I messed something up myself….

I’ll let you know if the easy way don’t work.

Re: cold-start injector on 95 Camry ?

couple of things, if you replaced the tube because of a crack, did it crack right by the throttle body, it usually does this because of a bad front motor mount , the mount causes the engine to move to much and tears that tube, usually have to replace the front motor mount and the dogbone mount on the left, , also sometimes there is a vacuum hose on the backside of the air intake tube that is easy to miss to reattach, check it out

Wink thank you

Thank you ALL!!!

I did remove the air hose, that in fact broke for the reason of the bad engine mount (still awaiting replacement) and the dog-bone that I’ve already replaced (not going to survive very long with bad engine mount) plus the old hose itself was as dry as a bone….
So I removed my new hose, cleaned as far as I could reach with the air intake cleaner, sprayed some WD40 into that passage hole leading to IAC valve, removed the valve's actuator and moved solenoid up & down a bit to make sure it moves. Then reinstalled everything back and this morning it sure worked.

Thanks a lot again!
