Hello,
I am kind of a newbie here just found this cite today, but I already have a question that I have been pondering. Well here is my problem. I recently recieved a 4 inch suspension lift, for my 1998 Jeep Wrangler, by skyjacker. I am saving up funds to get bigger tires and wheels for it but am pretty low on cash. I was wondering if I could just put some bigger tires on my already existing stock wheels? I'm not sure what width my wheels are but they came stock with my Wrangler Sport. I have 30"tall by 9.5"width a Radius of 15 on my wheels right now. I hope someone knows what I am asking! (I want to put some 12.5" wide tires by 33" tall on my 15 radius wheels is this possible or am I going to have to upgrade my wheels for this swop? What size wheels do I need to get if this doesn't work?) |

Re: stock wheels w/larger tires
I'm not sure what the width is on a stock TJ Wrangler but you need an 8" - 10" width to run a 12.5" tire. Hope this helps. You may want to install lower gears ( especially if it's a 4 cyl. ) as you will be losing power on hills.
